88% of IT decision-makers in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) have fundamentally changed their customer experiences in response to the pandemic, announced Sitecore ahead of GITEX Technology Week.

YouGov MENA surveyed more than 650 IT decision-makers in 12 countries throughout the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Levant, and Egypt for the study.

Furthermore, with the advent of e-commerce, 91 percent of buyers in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) have become digital converts since the pandemic and want to continue purchasing everything online.

Sitecore will showcase its first independent participation at GITEX under the topic of delivering unforgettable experiences, supporting the Middle East’s customer experience and e-commerce markets.

“Middle East brands have accelerated their digital transformation since the pandemic, fueling a turning point in customer experiences, and aligning in-store and digital retail experiences,” said Mohammed Alkhotani, Area Vice President – Middle East and Africa, Sitecore.

Further said, “Sitecore’s first standalone participation at GITEX presents a vital platform to drive new business, share Middle East innovations with a global audience, get closer to our customers and partners, and exchange best practices with industry thought leaders.”

Sitecore will highlight its $1.2 billion worldwide investment strategy, as well as its recent acquisitions of Boxever, Four51, and Moosend. Sitecore will also demonstrate how the Sitecore Experience Platform and Sitecore AI solutions can be used to integrate new technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotic process automation (RPA) into websites, applications, and social media.

Overall, according to the YouGov study, 83 percent of MENA companies will progress their marketing technology stack more in 2020 than they did in the preceding three years. Apps or websites (63 percent), remembering customers’ shopping history (39 percent), and sending preferred offers or invites are the top three technologies seeing the most adoption to improve the customer shopping experience (35 percent ).

“Middle East organizations have driven a reinvention of their marketing stack over the past year, and understand the importance of using real-time technologies to personalize customer experiences,” added Mohammed Alkhotani.

“With Middle East customers shifting to e-commerce and hybrid retail models, brands that personalize digital marketing campaigns can drive new levels of business competitiveness.”
