Accenture (NYSE: ACN) and SandboxAQ have announced an expansion of their partnership to address the increasing need for robust data encryption solutions. This collaboration aims to protect organizations against current cyber threats and future risks posed by advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum computing. The partnership offers a joint solution that enhances observability and identifies key cyber risks to enterprise data, ensuring comprehensive protection.

According to Accenture’s recent research, more than half (52%) of CEOs view the rapid pace of technological innovation as a top risk for cyberattacks. Additionally, 86% of CEOs consider cyber trust and resilience in emerging technologies like generative AI and quantum computing to be highly relevant for their organizations. This research underscores the importance of strong cryptography management, which requires the latest algorithms to protect systems, processes, and data.

As part of their ongoing commitment to cryptographic excellence, Accenture is introducing a new Encryption Risk Assessment service, integrated with SandboxAQ’s AQtive Guard. This service provides organizations with deep visibility into risks associated with weak cryptography, allowing them to protect critical data across networks, file systems, and cloud applications. The service also helps organizations upgrade their encryption methods to guard against potential threats, including ransomware, data theft, and manipulation campaigns.

Paolo Dal Cin, Global Lead of Accenture Security, emphasized the urgency of proactive data protection: “The rise of generative AI and expected global post-quantum encryption standards make data protection critical. Malicious actors are already stealing sensitive data with the intention of decrypting it later using quantum computers. Our new assessment service allows clients to identify potential risks and enhance their encryption to protect against both current and future threats.”

Jack Hidary, CEO of SandboxAQ, highlighted the benefits of this partnership: “Our continued collaboration with Accenture will help our largest global clients defend against advanced AI-driven cybersecurity attacks. Enhancing cryptography defenses not only protects sensitive data but also increases observability across the enterprise, as recent incidents have shown the need for.”

The service is capable of identifying risks related to cryptographic assets, such as digital certificates and cryptographic keys, as well as the use of cryptographic algorithms, both symmetric and public key. It provides a comprehensive view of cryptography use throughout the enterprise and delivers prioritized recommendations for remediation actions. This enables businesses to act swiftly to protect their infrastructure against sophisticated threats and prepare for the transition to post-quantum technology.
