According to the Al-Futtaim Group, Omer Elamin, President of Orient Insurance, has received the Non-Family Executive award at the prestigious Family Business Awards. Elamin was honored for championing innovation and fostering growth via his achievements at the inaugural event, which marked his 40th anniversary with the company.
The Family Business Awards are held by the Family Business Council Gulf (FBCG), a private, non-profit membership organization representing family businesses in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). They honour the extraordinary success of family-run enterprises across generations.

The Non-Family Business Executive Award recognizes a non-family firm executive’s lengthy stay and significant achievements to a family business. A jury chooses the person who has exhibited remarkable loyalty and commitment to recipient the prestigious award.
The goal of FBCG is to help GCC family businesses stay together. The council encourages and engages top family-owned businesses throughout the six GCC countries as a regional platform. It also aims to identify and address issues that are unique to the GCC region and contribute to the advancement of knowledge on topics such as succession, family governance, next-generation development, and family communication.
