Amazon has offered new technology for concertgoers to use their hands as tickets. The company is reportedly bringing its palm-recognition technology to a music venue in the United States, allowing fans to use their hands as tickets. The palm swiping technology, Amazon One, will be used at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, Colorado, before extending to other locations in the months ahead.

The Amazon one has been there for years, but this will mark the first time it’s utilized outside of Amazon stores, where customers could use their palms to pay for food and other things. Before the event, concertgoers can be registered simply by hovering their palm over the device to connect their palm to a ticketing account – and they only have to do it once.

Those who have connected their hands to the ticketing account may also use their palms as a pass to gain access to other places at the venue’s concerts and events, and they don’t require an Amazon account to do so.

Amazon inked a partnership deal with the entertainment business AEG, which sells tickets on AEG’s ticketing site, AXS, to introduce the software to Red Rocks.

Other venues are expected to implement the tech in the coming months, according to AXS CEO Bryan Perez, but he declined to identify where or how many of them.

Mr. Perez claims that employing palm technology instead of holding up their phone to an attendant to scan a bar code allows concertgoers to get to their seats faster.

Those who want their hands scanned will be directed to a different entrance.

Mr. Perez explained, “You don’t have to fumble with your phone.” “Your hand is always connected to your body,” says the author.

Privacy experts have warned against firms adopting biometric data, such as a face or palm scan, because it may be hacked and stolen.

The palm photos are stored in a safe portion of Amazon’s cloud, not on the Amazon One device, according to the company. Users can also request that their data be erased at any time, according to the statement.
