Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the establishment of a new office in Kuwait. Under the State of Kuwait’s Direct Investment Law, the office was licenced by the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA). The new location is part of AWS’ continuous investments in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and it will help to support Kuwait’s expanding number of customers and partners. It will also assist companies of all sizes in Kuwait, including startups, corporations, and government agencies, as they migrate to AWS.
AWS is used by millions of active users in over 190 countries each month, including tens of thousands of clients throughout the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Government agencies in Kuwait, such as the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) and the Ministry of Commerce and Industries (MOCI), as well as some of the country’s leading businesses and startups, including Abyat, Ali Abdul Wahab and Sons, Boodai Group, Markaz, Mobile Telecommunications Company (Zain), Oncost Cash & Carry, Talabat, and UPayme, are among them.
AWS continues to expand its work with government entities in Kuwait through the AWS Training and Certification programmes to support the upskilling and retraining of the workforce with the most up-to-date cloud computing training curriculum, including its work with the Ministry of Youth and the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), which provides cloud training programmes to various government age groups.

In Kuwait, AWS has a growing network of partners who assist customers on their cloud journeys. Tens of thousands of independent software vendors (ISVs) and systems integrators (SIs) are part of the AWS Partner Network (APN). The APN assists AWS Partners in developing innovative solutions and services on AWS by offering business, technical, marketing, and go-to-market (GTM) support. Edrak United for Technology, EEMC, Gulfcom, KuwaitNet, Redington, Suhob, Zain Group, and Zak are all members of the APN in Kuwait.
The Kuwait office is the newest addition to AWS’s MENA offices, which include Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, where it is assembling teams of account managers, technical account managers, partner managers, systems engineers, solutions architects, professional services, and other roles to assist customers of all sizes in making the transition to AWS.
