Axis hosts tech conference: ‘AI for a smarter, safer tomorrow’ at Expo 2020

Acknowledging the vast leap of technology and in celebration to innovations we enjoy today, , Axis Communications is hosting its second technology conference, titled ‘Artificial intelligence for a smarter, safer tomorrow‘, on 17 November 2021. Experts will explore how new industry trends are transforming our society and driving the development of smarter, safer, and more sustainable cities at the event, which promises to be an educational experience.

From October 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022, Axis Communications will host six revolutionary technology conferences at Expo 2020.These events will take place in the Expo’s Sustainability District in Dubai, as an official partner of the Sweden Pavilion.

“This conference will showcase the immense opportunity technology has provided to society and how we can tap into its power to keep us safe,” explained Ettiene van der Watt, Regional Director – Middle East & Africa at Axis.

He added, “Innovative cameras, Internet of Things (IoT) sensors, and surveillance analytics are the gateway to enabling a smarter future for businesses and for overall urban life.”

Timo Sachse, Axis Product Analyst EMEA, added, “Technologies such as artificial intelligence have the potential to positively impact public safety, urban mobility, and environmental monitoring. At Axis, we are consistently working towards developing the best applications and ethical usage of new technologies. In addition to this, we focus on first-class education to support all our partners,ensuring they are ready to adapt to new technologies.”

The opening remarks by Ettiene van der Watt and Timo Sachse will be among the Axis experts featured at the event. Then, Mats Thulin, Director of Core Technologies, will explain how to train AI on neutral networks and how to evaluate AI analytics. Timo Sachse will then explore edge, server, and cloud computing, as well as other AI analytics system design issues. Following that, one of the company’s Global Product Managers, Joacim Tullberg, will discuss the significant help analytics can provide for forensic investigations on recorded video.

Axis Solutions Engineer Wayne Davis will walk attendees through the steps of selecting the correct detection technology, followed by Tertius Wolfaardt, the company’s Architecture and Engineering Manager, who will cover partner analytics. Finally, Steven Kenny, Axis Architecture and Engineering Program Manager EMEA, will provide a talk on the importance of cybersecurity and maintenance to finish the conference.
