Cairo ICT, one of Africa’s major technology events, celebrated its Silver Jubilee this year. The event was hosted in the Egypt International Exhibition Center in Cairo from November 7 to 10, 2021, under the theme THE DIGITAL CHALLENGE.

An event like this holds considerable importance in Africa’s growing technology market, especially at a time when emerging technologies are giving the region greater stability and security.

The event gained international recognition due to the large participation of several ministries as well as many foreign and local firms.

Following the launch of the ‘Vision 2030 ICT Strategy’ by the Egyptian government in 2016, Egypt’s ICT sector has been playing a vital role in the country’s 2030 vision for streamlining the development of its digital infrastructure. The COVID-19 outbreak also witnessed African countries emerging as technology leaders.

Africa, the world’s second biggest continent in terms of people and area, is distinct among the other continents owing to its cultural heritage and diversity. Cairo ICT 2021 served as a true platform for exchanging thoughts and perspectives, as well as developing a plan for technological developments, at a time when Africa is being widely observed as the next huge growth market. The event was an important step in achieving Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the national digital transformation agenda.
