Cisco has highlighted its vision for a digital and sustainable future at Expo 2020. The Official Digital Network Partner of Expo 2020 Dubai has unveiled The Cisco Grove – an immersive environment meant to illustrate how intelligent networks may allow new possibilities for a sustainable, inclusive future.

Cisco’s digitally-driven environment, located at Expo 2020 Dubai‘s Partner Hub, is inspired by natural groves and their clever subsurface systems. The Cisco Grove, which ties in with Expo 2020’s theme of ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future,’ shows how smart, intuitive networks can increase connectivity, generate opportunities, and fuel an inclusive future for all.

Expo 2020 Dubai’s ambition is to provide the most digitally connected and immersive event in the history of the World Expo. Cisco technologies and innovations are used to digital power experiences across the Expo grounds. Cisco personnel have now spent more than 2.5 million hours supporting technology implementation across 30 technology areas at the Expo 2020 Dubai site.

“Working in close collaboration with Cisco since 2018, we have witnessed the transformative nature of digital technologies firsthand. We are proud of the experiences on offer at Expo 2020 Dubai today and believe that visitors to The Cisco Grove will also share in our enthusiasm for building a future that is both green and digital,” said Mohammad Alhashmi, Chief Technology Officer at Expo 2020 Dubai.

Guests are welcome to explore the ‘Universe of Data,’ a cutting-edge projection and hologram-based experience at The Cisco Grove. They can engage with the network to learn more about one of three interactive experiences:

  • examines how smart cities might use digital technologies to connect,  protect, and improve inhabitants’ lives. Solutions for government, transportation, and logistics, and smart buildings are among the use cases on display.
  • The demo shows how Cisco uses AI and machine learning to tackle real-world challenges, including detecting and fighting against cyberthreats, creating self-healing networks, and developing smart, collaborative solutions for the future of hybrid work.
  • Symbolizing the vast amount of connected data traveling through space, where the correct cloud approach can securely connect any device to any app and any cloud.

“Our digital future requires the use of intelligent networks which constantly learn, adapt, and protect. This is exactly why Cisco’s technology was selected as the foundation for secure connectivity at Expo 2020 Dubai. We look forward to welcoming our partners and customers to Expo and to The Cisco Grove, demonstrating how our network can bring human and digital connections to life,” said Shukri Eid, Managing Director, Cisco Gulf Region.

Visitors can meet with Cisco specialists to explore the latest digitalization trends and participate in the company’s green initiatives in addition to the ‘Universe of Data’ experience.
