Digital Transformation drives Egypt’s ICT Market to EGP 93 Billion

Digital transformation is driving Egypt’s ICT market to EGP 93 billion, and ensuring that organizations can find new levels of profitability, resilience, and sustainability amid the COVID-19 pandemic, industry experts announced during Cairo ICT.

Thanks to the government-led Egypt Vision 2030’s Digital Egypt vision for transforming Egypt into a digital society, the country’s ICT market has reached EGP 93 billion, according to a recent report by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

In Egypt, SAP has been partnering with many enterprises and contributing to their innovation agendas and digital transformation plans through availing the industry best practices and the platform for innovation, along with the latest advanced technological solutions.

Elaraby Hospital, part of the El Araby Group, EDITA, one of Egypt’s largest food and beverage manufacturers, and Egyptian paint manufacturer Kapci Coatings, among others, are unique showcases and success stories with which SAP is proud of partnering.

Elaraby Hospital Transforms Patient Experiences

Elaraby Hospital, the largest hospital in the Nile Delta region, is adopting the next-generation Healthcare and Patient Management solution developed by SAP and Cerner amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Elaraby Hospital has 219 beds, 24 units of ICU, 6 units of NICU units, and 6 operating rooms. On a larger scale, El Araby Group is also digitally transforming operations on SAP’s end-to-end solutions.

“As part of Elaraby Hospital’s mission in providing excellence in healthcare, we needed full visibility to optimize patient experiences,” said Dr. Mamdouh El Araby, Head of the Medical Sector, El Araby Gruop. “Thanks to our digital transformation with SAP, Elaraby Hospital is digitizing processes to make it easier and faster for patients to schedule appointments, see doctors, and view their medical records and lab results.”

EDITA Boosts Food and Beverage Manufacturing

EDITA is digitally transforming with SAP to support Egypt’s food manufacturing and distribution innovation.

EDITA has gone live on the SAP Direct Store Delivery and SAP ERP Central Component solutions. As a result, EDITA has centralized its sales and distribution processes across 31 production lines, 66,000 wholesale and retail customers, and exports to more than 17 markets in the region.

“This project started in January 2020 as part of Edita Information Technology strategic roadmap with a very detailed design phase, keeping all technical and business requirements from the business as a key of success, push the change management to move towards more paperless environment using E-signatures,” said Ihab Selim, Chief Information Officer, EDITA. “EDITA’s requirements also included making sure of systems availability up-and-running in a very high demand operation and synchronization process; using the full end to end functionality.”

Kapci Coatings Innovates the Customer Experience for Paint Products

Kapci Coatings is digitally transforming SAP’s customer experience, sales, customer service, and marketing solutions. Next, Kapci Coatings is exploring the SAP S/4HANA real-time business suite and SAP Ariba digital procurement platform.

“With Egypt’s manufacturing sector rebounding, Kapci Coatings needed full visibility on our global sales performance and operations,” said Eng. Waleed Helmy – Business Development Manager, Kapci Coatings. “By digitally transforming with SAP, Kapci Coatings now has real-time insights on our customer experiences, allowing us to tailor our products to customer demand and to integrate with our enterprise resource planning.”

One-Third of Organizations Invest in New Technologies Amid COVID-19

Amid COVID-19, about one-third (32 percent) of worldwide organizations are investing in new technologies, with the top three being: AI (34 percent), IoT (33 percent), and analytics (27 percent), according to Oxford Economics and SAP.
