The telco provider’s 5G network becomes the fastest in the UAE. This accomplishment is the consequence of du’s recent efforts to push the 5G agenda, with significant expenditures made to create the 5G network, improve performance and efficiency, and ensure customers have access to the greatest communication services possible.
5G is critical for improving the telecommunications sector and strengthening the country’s global competitiveness, with long-term infrastructure improvements and world-class connectivity being key priorities for all. With today’s announcement, du underlines its commitment to driving the 5G agenda, and the telco now expects to achieve 90 percent nationwide population coverage with the UAE’s fastest 5G network by the end of 2021.

With independent 5G benchmarking reports completed by different companies in Q2 and Q3 2021, du’s 5G network’s prominent position in terms of median throughput has been reaffirmed for six months in a row.
