88% of MENA brands transformed customer experiences due to pandemic, reveals Sitecore ahead of GITEX

Ahead of GITEX Technology Week, Sitecore revealed 88% of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) brands transformed customer experiences by the IT decision-makers due to pandemic.

For the study, YouGov MENA surveyed more than 650 IT decision-makers in 12 countries throughout the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Levant, and Egypt.

Furthermore, with the advent of e-commerce, 91 percent of buyers in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) have become digital converts since the pandemic and want to continue purchasing everything online.

Sitecore will showcase its first independent participation at GITEX under the topic of delivering unforgettable experiences, supporting the Middle East’s customer experience and e-commerce markets.

Sitecore will also present the 2021 Sitecore Experience Award to Dubai-based developer Kerzner International during GITEX. In the EMEA area, Kerzner International won the category for Most Intelligent Content Optimization. Dubai Free Zones (Most Intelligent Content Optimization), Emirates Airline (Best Innovation with Emerging Technologies), and Saudi Aramco were also honorable mentions from the Middle East (Best Digital Experience Transformation).

“Middle East brands, such as Kerzner International, Dubai Free Zones, Emirates Airline, and Saudi Aramco, have accelerated their digital transformation since the pandemic, fueling a turning point in customer experiences, and aligning in-store and digital retail experiences,” said Mohammed Alkhotani, Area Vice President – Middle East and Africa, Sitecore.

He added, “Sitecore’s first standalone participation at GITEX presents a vital platform to drive new business, share Middle East innovations with a global audience, get closer to our customers and partners, and exchange best practices with industry thought leaders.”

Sitecore will highlight its $1.2 billion worldwide investment strategy, as well as its recent acquisitions of Boxever, Four51, and Moosend. Sitecore will also demonstrate how the Sitecore Experience Platform and Sitecore AI solutions can be used to integrate new technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotic process automation (RPA) into websites, applications, and social media.

Overall, according to the YouGov study, 83 percent of MENA companies will progress their marketing technology stack more in 2020 than they did in the preceding three years. Apps or websites (63 percent), remembering customers’ shopping history (39 percent), and sending preferred offers or invites are the top three technologies seeing the most adoption to improve the customer shopping experience (35 percent ).
