Oracle has announced the deployment of OpenAI Oracle GPT-5 across its database portfolio and suite of SaaS applications, including Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, Oracle NetSuite, and Oracle Industry Applications such as Oracle Health. The move enables customers to leverage advanced coding and reasoning capabilities directly within business-critical workflows.

GPT-5 is OpenAI’s smartest and fastest model yet. Designed for code generation, editing, and debugging, it also provides agentic capabilities and sophisticated reasoning for enterprise use. The model is available in three sizes via the API and in ChatGPT Enterprise, offering scalability and flexibility to meet diverse customer needs.

With GPT-5, Oracle aims to:

  • Enhance multi-step reasoning and orchestration across business processes
  • Accelerate code generation, bug resolution, and documentation
  • Improve accuracy and depth in business insights and recommendations

Kris Rice, senior vice president of Database Software Development at Oracle, said, “The combination of Oracle Database 23ai and GPT-5 will help enterprises achieve breakthrough insights, innovations, and productivity. Oracle AI Vector and Select AI together with GPT-5 enable easier and more effective data search and analysis. SQLcl MCP Server allows GPT-5 to securely access data, unlocking the full potential of AI on enterprise data.”

Meeten Bhavsar, senior vice president of Applications Development at Oracle, added, “GPT-5 will bring Fusion Applications customers sophisticated reasoning and deep-thinking capabilities. It will power complex AI agent-driven processes, enabling advanced automation, higher productivity, and faster decision-making.”
