Dr. Mohamed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Head of UAE Cybersecurity for the Government, announced the country’s active participation in the Second Ordinary Session of the Arab Cybersecurity Ministers Council held in Riyadh.

The meeting brought together ministers and senior officials responsible for cybersecurity from Arab League member states, alongside representatives from the League’s General Secretariat.

The council’s agenda covered several major topics of mutual interest. These included the adoption of the Arab Cybersecurity Strategy, approval of the Council’s accession to the United Nations Convention on Cybercrime, and joining key international organizations in the field.

Officials revealed that the session also explored strengthening joint Arab efforts in cybersecurity and improving readiness to counter emerging threats. Dr. Al Kuwaiti emphasized that UAE cybersecurity efforts reflect the nation’s commitment to regional and global cooperation. He noted that cybersecurity is now a vital part of defense strategies to safeguard societies, economies, and resources across Arab nations.

He further reported that rapid technological and geopolitical changes highlight the importance of cybersecurity in protecting collective Arab security. He stressed that no strong economy or society can be built without robust cybersecurity frameworks to defend against daily threats targeting stability and prosperity.
