In 2023, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department received the Cloud Infrastructure Innovation Award from VMware, a global technology company. This prestigious award recognizes the department’s innovative use of cloud technology in modernizing the justice system in Abu Dhabi. It highlights the department’s dedication to digital transformation and its commitment to improving legal services through advanced technologies.
Counselor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, the undersecretary, praised the department’s achievements as a result of visionary and strategic leadership. He attributed this success to the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister.
Al Abri stated that the leadership’s vision reflects in simplified judicial processes and more accessible services for the public. He emphasized how these efforts empower citizens, residents, and businesses across Abu Dhabi and the wider UAE region. The department continues to win major awards and certifications for quality and excellence in service delivery and innovation.
Al Abri stressed the significance of applying strict international standards in digital transformation and operational improvements. He highlighted the use of cutting-edge technologies to deliver fast, reliable, and efficient judicial services to all users. This initiative supports Abu Dhabi’s wider strategy for innovation, service excellence, and global competitiveness.
Ahmed Ibrahim Al Marzouqi also praised the department’s major advancements in cloud computing and digital infrastructure development. He revealed that more than 80% of the department’s servers are now virtual, supporting smoother operations.
This transformation played a key role in securing the Cloud Infrastructure Innovation Award from VMware. Al Marzouqi shared that the department launched its internal cloud computing journey back in 2016. By 2020, they had built a fully integrated infrastructure to ensure seamless business continuity and data security.
The system efficiently connects primary and backup data centers, reducing downtime and improving reliability across services. These technological milestones mark a new era in judicial services for the emirate and set a benchmark globally
