The Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) is transforming Innovation Month 2025 into a hub for future researchers, innovators, and STEM students. Aligning with the ‘Year of Community’ initiative declared by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan under the slogan ‘Hand in Hand,’ ATRC is committed to fostering talent in advanced technology, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and robotics to position Abu Dhabi and the UAE as a global leader in research and development (R&D).
Throughout February, ATRC will introduce immersive STEM activations and interactive experiences to engage youth and the community. On February 11, in celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, ATRC will highlight female graduates from its flagship NexTech program, which has placed 100 Emirati STEM students in 25 world-class universities, including Cambridge, Yale, Manchester, and CalTech. These students are engaged in cutting-edge research projects that contribute to global innovation and scientific breakthroughs.
For the first time, ATRC will turn shopping malls into AI and robotics playgrounds from February 10 to 16 at Yas Mall (Abu Dhabi), Al Ain Mall, and Al Dhanna Mall (Al Dhafra). Families and children will have the opportunity to build and train robots, explore AI and quantum technologies, and earn digital innovation badges in a gamified learning environment. Participants will meet UAE-based researchers and innovators, while young achievers will be recognized with their names displayed as “Future STEM Talent” on a ranking board to inspire others.
On February 18, ATRC, in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, will host a session at the TII open innovation event to showcase the UAE Research Map and ResearchHUB—two platforms designed to accelerate scientific collaboration, connect researchers with funding opportunities, and streamline industry-driven R&D initiatives. These platforms will play a crucial role in shaping the UAE’s future in AI, robotics, space exploration, and sustainable technology by fostering real-time partnerships between academia, government, and industry.
ATRC’s initiatives during Innovation Month 2025 will provide young minds with hands-on exposure to advanced science and technology, inspiring the next generation of engineers, researchers, and tech leaders. By empowering students, nurturing curiosity, and expanding access to groundbreaking research, ATRC is driving a thriving R&D ecosystem that cements Abu Dhabi and the UAE’s position as a global hub for scientific and technological advancements.
