Cloudflare, Inc. (NYSE: NET), the global connectivity cloud services company, released its fourth annual Impact Report. The report highlights Cloudflare’s ongoing commitment to building a better Internet by securing critical infrastructure, promoting open Internet principles, and fostering the growth of the innovation economy. Key initiatives from 2024 include bolstering cybersecurity for elections, enhancing encryption transparency, and providing tools to help content creators regain control from AI bots.

2024 Impact Report Key Milestones:

  1. Securing the U.S. Elections
    Cloudflare onboarded over 90 political campaigns and 60+ local media sites to ensure the security of the 2024 U.S. elections. By partnering with Defending Digital Campaigns, the company provided free cybersecurity services, defending against a rise in DDoS attacks without causing significant disruptions.
  2. Global Election Monitoring with Cloudflare Radar
    Cloudflare Radar provided real-time data on Internet traffic and attacks across 70 countries during 2024 elections. The free public resource enabled civil society groups to track online activities and election-related disruptions.
  3. Empowering Content Creators Against AI Bots
    Cloudflare introduced new tools to help website owners regain control over their content. With these tools, content creators can block, audit, and control AI bot access to their websites, ensuring greater transparency in the digital content ecosystem.
  4. Expanding AI Access with Global GPU Deployment
    Cloudflare expanded its AI capabilities by deploying GPUs in over 180 cities. This infrastructure supports low-latency, scalable AI applications using Workers AI, helping customers optimize costs while ensuring fast access to popular AI models worldwide.
  5. Defending Vulnerable Internet Properties with Project Galileo
    In collaboration with 54 civil society partners, Cloudflare’s Project Galileo protected over 2,900 organizations from an average of 95.8 million daily cyberattacks. The initiative focuses on defending human rights defenders, journalists, and political dissenters from online threats.
  6. Supporting Open Source with Project Alexandria
    Cloudflare introduced Project Alexandria to support open source software (OSS) projects. By providing annual credits and expanded services, Cloudflare is helping OSS thrive and continue contributing to the health of the global Internet.
