The Research and Development (R&D) Centre of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has introduced a cutting-edge smart application designed to automate the selection and dispatch of field crews for effective alarm management and troubleshooting on-site.
This innovative digital solution leverages an Internet of Things (IoT) platform to improve fault response efficiency. By automating the crew selection process, the app ensures the nearest available team is dispatched promptly, minimizing response times and facilitating faster system restoration.
In addition, the solution includes real-time report generation, offering tabular summaries that detail the dispatched crew, fault specifics, and the steps taken for system restoration.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, emphasized, “DEWA’s R&D Centre is an incubator of innovation, contributing significantly to both local and global scientific research. The centre provides access to the latest global technologies, world-class laboratories, and facilities, fostering an environment conducive to developing advanced solutions for DEWA’s operational needs.”
This advancement further underscores DEWA’s commitment to enhancing its operations through innovation and technology-driven solutions.
