The Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) and the UAE Ministry of Economy have unveiled the Dubai Intellectual Property Hub (DIPH), the nation’s first centralised platform dedicated to intellectual property (IP) and intangible assets (IA). Aimed at empowering innovators, entrepreneurs, artists, researchers, and startups, the platform was launched at the “IP2024: Glimpse on the Future of IP” event held at the Museum of the Future.

During the event, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the UAE Ministry of Economy and DFF in the presence of His Excellency Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy, H.E. Alia Abdulla Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, H.E. Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Muaini, Assistant Undersecretary for the Intellectual Property Rights Sector, and H.E. Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of DFF.

The MoU integrates the Ministry’s IA registration feature into DIPH, streamlining the process of securing intellectual property rights for various sectors, including creative design, sustainability, health, education, and law.

HE Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri emphasized the UAE’s commitment to nurturing innovation and supporting creative industries, stating that the launch of DIPH reinforces the UAE’s legislative framework to protect IP rights, in line with the nation’s “We the UAE 2031” vision.

H.E. Khalfan Belhoul highlighted DIPH as a vital tool in advancing the UAE’s R&D ecosystem and legislative framework. The hub offers a seamless digital interface, centralising IP resources, guidance, and tools for entrepreneurs and businesses.

DIPH is built on four key pillars, providing guidelines for IP registration, protection, and commercial exploitation through a streamlined, user-friendly digital platform, aiming to position Dubai and the UAE as global leaders in creativity and innovation.
