This groundbreaking event showcased the power of AI, featuring Google Cloud’s Vertex AI and Gemini 1.5 Flash as tools for tackling a range of critical challenges in the motorsports industry.

The AI hackathon provided an unparalleled opportunity for participants to explore innovative solutions and engage with cutting-edge technology. Teams worked on diverse challenges such as fan engagement, future vehicle enhancements, safety improvements, and sustainability. Among the notable projects were a personalized “matchmaker” app for fans and an AI-powered sustainability scorecard for comparing the Formula E GEN3 car’s eco-friendliness with other vehicles.

Participants also enjoyed exclusive access to the final pre-race preparations of 11 top Formula E teams, including Jaguar TCS Racing, NEOM McLaren, and TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E, through pitlane tours and viewing the series’ final practice session.

The team Ancoris emerged as the winner of the hackathon, impressing judges with their innovative podcast agent that created a two-minute summary of a two-hour race. Their achievement earned high praise from Jeff Dodds, CEO of Formula E.
