Intersec 2025: Shaping Security Strategies for a Safer Future

Achieving security harmony in today’s volatile and complex world requires a comprehensive framework that balances people, processes, and technology. This approach is vital in the Middle East, where regulatory landscapes, cultural nuances, and geopolitical risks present unique challenges for safeguarding assets and ensuring operational resilience.

At Intersec 2025, taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) from 14-16 January, Christina Alexander Alexandropoulou, Cluster Manager for Southeast Europe Security & Market Safety at Philip Morris International and Security Magazine’s “Top Woman in Security 2024,” will share her expertise on addressing these challenges. Alexandropoulou emphasizes fostering collaboration, streamlining protocols, and integrating advanced cybersecurity measures as critical to mitigating risks and ensuring operational safety. She highlights the importance of tailored incident response plans informed by local contexts to enhance readiness and safeguard personnel and assets.

Digital transformation has reshaped security strategies worldwide by introducing new challenges and opportunities. Alexandropoulou points out that aligning technological advancements with organizational strategies is key. This involves integrating robust cybersecurity measures, promoting cyber resilience, and staying agile to effectively counter evolving threats.

The Security Leaders’ Summit at Intersec 2025 will feature leading industry experts discussing pressing security issues. Dr. Bushra Al Blooshi, Director of Governance & Risk Management at Dubai Electronic Security Centre, will explore global collaboration in security standards. Carlo Loveri, Head of Risk & Business Continuity at Abu Dhabi Airports, will address combating deepfake and misinformation risks. Mohamed AlMaleki, Head of Information Security Office at the Federal Tax Authority, will provide insights into using predictive analytics for proactive security measures.

Intersec 2025, now in its 26th edition, is set to host its largest event ever, spanning 31,000 sqm, a 20% increase in space compared to 2024. Over 52,000 visitors are expected, marking a 10% growth from the previous year. With more than 1,200 exhibitors from over 60 countries, 75% of whom are international, the event will feature over 250 new exhibitors. The Fire and Safety sector alone has seen a 25% increase in exhibitors, reflecting the growing demand for innovative solutions in this field.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Intersec 2025 will offer a robust conference program covering fire and rescue, safety and health, access control, smart security systems, and policing. Highlights include interactive workshops, the SIRA Forum, the CISO Business Briefing by inCyber, the FCIA Workshop, the Thought Leadership Pavilion, the Safety Walk, and the Ignyte Startup Arena. The Intersec Awards will recognize outstanding industry achievements.

Grant Tuchten, Portfolio Director at Messe Frankfurt Middle East, said that Intersec 2025 will bring together top industry leaders to collaborate and innovate. Supported by the Security Industry Regulation Agency (SIRA), Abu Dhabi Civil Defence, Dubai Municipality, and the Cyber Security Council, this event promises to shape the future of safety, security, and fire protection globally.
