Milestone Systems has announced Project Hafnia, a new initiative leveraging NVIDIA Cosmos Curator to democratize AI model training with high-quality, compliant video data. AI developers worldwide face challenges in finding accurate and reliable video data for training visual AI models. Project Hafnia aims to address this by enabling data generators to share and utilize their data while giving developers access to traceable, regulatory-compliant annotated video data.
By integrating NVIDIA’s fine-tuning microservices, Milestone Systems is optimizing AI models for NVIDIA GPUs and video search and summarization (VSS) AI blueprints. The initiative includes a fine-tuned Vision Language Model (VLM), trained using NVIDIA microservices on a large volume of compliant transportation data, ensuring enhanced accuracy and performance. Deepu Talla, Vice President and General Manager of Embedded and Edge Computing at NVIDIA, highlighted how Milestone Systems is helping accelerate the next wave of powerful visual AI services.
Milestone Systems, a global leader in data-driven video technology and analytics, is aggregating compliant data through its global network of partners and customers. These organizations can leverage their data to develop smarter analytics, with the platform designed to streamline AI training and remove friction points. Powered by NVIDIA Cosmos Curator, Project Hafnia enables AI model training up to 30 times faster than current industry standards. CEO Thomas Jensen emphasized that artificial intelligence is the biggest game-changer of our time, and access to high-quality training data is crucial for innovation.
Project Hafnia offers two core services: Training as a Service (TaaS), which allows software developers to access high-quality video data for AI model training, and VLM as a Service, a cutting-edge solution for smart city transportation and intelligent traffic applications. Improved data annotation and access to high-quality datasets will enhance traffic management, manufacturing, airports, law enforcement, and business operations, enabling large-scale automation with unprecedented accuracy.
Leveraging NVIDIA’s AI platform, Milestone Systems has also developed a market-leading traffic and transportation VLM, supporting general traffic assessments, driving condition evaluations, alert validation, and incident reporting. The platform is launching as a pilot program, with early access available for developers. Interested participants can sign up at https://hafnia.milestonesys.com/joinwaitlist. Initially focusing on traffic-related video data, the platform plans to expand its capabilities in the future. Milestone Systems owns and manages the platform, ensuring a secure, scalable, and future-ready AI training ecosystem.
