For our pre-GITEX feature, we interviewed Manuel Rodrigues, Gulf’s Vice President for Secure Power, Schneider Electric, about their presence in the exhibition, newest technologies and solutions, and plans for 2022. Take a look at the replies we received.

TECHx: What is Schneider Electric all about and why is GITEX an important event for the company?

Manuel: Schneider Electric is leading the digital transformation of energy management and automation in homes, buildings, data centers, infrastructure and industries. With a global presence in over 100 countries, Schneider is the indisputable leader in power management – medium voltage, low voltage and secure power, and in automation systems. Events such as GITEX are hugely important for companies and the individuals working in tech to network, collaborate, share knowledge and inspire each other, and it’s great to be a part of that.

TECHx: Which solutions will you be showcasing at the event?

Manuel: Schneider Electric has announced its participation at GITEX Technology Week 2021 to showcase the latest technologies that will take innovation in the MENA region to the next level. Our theme will be “Of the Future” taking on various business segments including industry, the fast-moving consumable goods area, energy, and, most importantly, data centers.

At GITEX 2021, we will showcase Schneider’s open architecture – highlighting connected products, edge control hardware and software as well as applications, analytics, and services. Representatives and experts from Schneider Electric will be available to answer queries and resolve issues faced by business partners. In addition, resellers will be given the option to join Schneider Electric’s extensive partner network at the event.

TECHx: Where can we find Schneider Electric at GITEX?

Manuel: Schneider Electric will be at Booth Number H5-B40, Hall 5

TECHx: What is the road ahead for Schneider Electric in 2022?

Manuel: Globally, both digitalization and electrification are spreading at a fast pace. The number of digitally connected devices is ten times more than the human population and as the result, the amount of generated data and electricity consumption have grown tremendously.

The demand for artificial intelligence (AI) has been steadily increasing over the past few years. However, as the demand spiked up nearly 6 times more than usual during the recent five years, it became a hot issue in the industry. This trend comes from growing demands on technology to obtain relevant information out of numerous data.  The era which is led by technology and data now is called the digital economy.

The advancement of AI technology is now more and more accelerated. It is estimated that the global consumption of the recognition system and AI will increase sixfold between 2017 and 2022.
