Social media app Snapchat finally comes to Windows after 15 years of its inception. The platform is now accessible on PCs via the Microsoft Store, which preserves all of the Windows PC-compatible programmes.

The app has come to windows as a Progressive Web App (PWA). This means that the user can open Snapchat only via a web browser. Users can view the Snapchat PWA using the Microsoft Edge browser on a Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC because it is compatible with those operating systems.

Below is how users can download Snapchat on windows

  • At the bottom of the computer screen, click the Windows icon.
  • Locate the Microsoft Store and launch the application.
  • Use the search box to look up Snapchat.
  • Select “Get it in Store App” (This will redirect you to the store app).
  • At this point, select Get, and the programme will be installed.

The size of the app is 1.4 MB due to it being PWA. As stated in the Microsoft Store app’s privacy rules, Snapchat may access your internet connection.

Coming to its interface, the app looks and feels the same as other web applications like that WhatsApp and Instagram. Users appear to have the choice to chat, make calls (including video calls), and take pictures via the camera. it seems that users can log into the PWA version of Snapchat on up to ten devices as long as those devices are connected to the user’s Microsoft account.
