SolarWinds, a provider of secure observability and IT management software, has announced the launch of the SolarWinds® AI Agent. The company also revealed an expanded range of AI features designed to accelerate the shift toward autonomous operational resilience.

Modern IT environments are becoming increasingly distributed and complex. Nearly half of IT leaders reported unexpected outages despite rating their systems highly resilient, according to this year’s SolarWinds IT Trends Report. The SolarWinds AI Agent aims to close this “resilience gap” by providing IT teams with an intelligent, context-aware system that predicts issues, automates responses, and reduces cognitive workload.

Built on AI by Design principles and expanding the company’s Secure by Design framework, the AI Agent integrates conversational, agentic AI into daily IT operations. This enhances detection, diagnostics, and remediation across observability, incident response, and service management.

The SolarWinds AI Agent enables IT professionals to:
• Resolve incidents faster by summarizing outages, diagnosing root causes, and suggesting remediation steps.
• Use natural language commands to monitor system health, compare metrics, and launch workflows.
• Simplify observability management through a unified agentic interface.

Krishna Sai, Chief Technology Officer at SolarWinds, said, “The SolarWinds AI Agent is more than a feature, it’s a foundation for a new way of working. By embedding intelligent, context-aware AI into IT workflows, we’re helping teams move from reactive firefighting to proactive innovation.”

Alongside the AI Agent, SolarWinds introduced new AI-powered capabilities to enhance operational performance.

Root Cause Assist (GA): Reduces troubleshooting time by generating clear analyses based on alerts and anomalies.
Dynamic Threshold Enhancements: Extends automated thresholding to more metrics, minimizing noise and false positives.
AI Query Assist (Tech Preview): Optimizes database performance by analyzing queries and suggesting faster rewrites.

Looking ahead to 2026, SolarWinds plans to roll out additional AI-driven features, including incident correlation, automated runbook execution, and AI-generated knowledge base creation. These enhancements aim to further strengthen autonomous resilience and streamline IT operations.

Sudhakar Ramakrishna, President and CEO of SolarWinds, said, “With the AI Agent and expanded capabilities, we’re helping customers achieve autonomous operational resilience, where IT runs smarter, faster, and more securely with minimal manual intervention.”

He added that the integration of automation, observability, visualization, and remediation into a single intelligent cycle reduces downtime and improves productivity, allowing teams to focus on innovation.
