The service station’s design is inspired by the rich heritage of the UAE’s traditions in the form of its national tree, the ghaf. Marking a true innovation in fuel retail, it is also the first station in the region to incorporate an on-grid wind turbine for power generation and carbon fibre in the construction of its canopy
Gate Avenue was awarded the LEED Gold certification for successfully fulfilling the prerequisites and credits across nine measurements for building excellence from integrative design to human health to material use. This was made possible by the expertise and support of AESG – the firm that delivered the LEED consultancy services
Construction of the LEED Gold certified service station has reached an impressive 40 per cent. Work began in August 2019 and the service station is expected to be completed by June this year. After Expo 2020 Dubai, the service station will be open to the public as part of the site’s legacy phase.
