An interview with Naoufal El Ouali, Co-Founder & CEO, Obvious Technologies, a French-based company which uses new-generation integration platform and comprehensive PSIM, Command & Control, Coordination and Crisis Management software suite, leveraging the power of 3D Data Visualization, talking about trends in technological sectors in the year ahead.

TechX: According to the technological development so far, what trends are likely to shape the Technology sector in 2023?

Ouali: Technology provides infinite possibilities of what can be. Over the past year, we witnessed the development of numerous opportunities, including digital twin cities, AI everything, the growth of the metaverse, and more. At Obvious Technologies, we have been trying to keep up with new ways to leverage technology today.

Some of the upcoming trends we are certain about is that in 2023 and going ahead. AI will be everywhere. As digital solutions become more straightforward, they will enable businesses to leverage the power of technology to innovate intelligent products and services from data.

Secondly, we expect growth in the Metaverse space as more and more people understand the capabilities of virtual and augmented reality (VR and AR). One key area to watch out for is workspaces in the metaverse – in 2023, we will have immersive meeting environments where employees can talk, brainstorm, and co-create in collaboration. AR and VR are already being used for training and onboarding solutions, and it won’t be long before it becomes a norm within the work environment.

Another definite trend in 2023 is the growth of Digital Twins, which is the perfect technological tool to fill the gaps between the digital and physical worlds. 3D digital twins will represent what we know in real life, allowing users to speed up their understanding and decision-making processes.

TechX: How can technology leaders position themselves to leverage the upcoming technological advancements in the industry?

Ouali: The key challenge for IT Leaders is to consistently keep learning, unlearning, and relearning as the pain points and technological solutions move quickly. Managers tend to be the translators between technology providers and end-users. Hence, they must focus on the consumer’s pain points and the use cases and effectively communicate and address the issues.

IT Leaders should therefore position themselves as a bridge between the tech provider and the end user to ensure maximum efficiency and consumer satisfaction.

TechX: Considering the expansion of businesses over the past year, what should industry leaders focus on in 2023?

Ouali: The world has been through a lot over the last three years and has evolved accordingly to reach seamless solutions. The priority for leaders in 2023 should be agility and adaptability. The more flexible one can be to the unpredictable nature of the world, the easier it will be to meet consumer expectations and demands with the changes in time, market, and technology.

TechX: How likely is it that Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning will take the lead in the industry?

Ouali: As the amount of data in the world increases, the use of AL and ML will become mandatory as it would be physically impossible to keep up with such large volumes of data manually.

However, data management solutions are getting more accessible due to the development of AI-powered technologies. They will enable any business to leverage its power to create innovative solutions and designs for users.

TechX: Which technologies will be the most popular in 2023?

Ouali: Technology, today, is considered a helper in our daily lives, especially for those who have experienced a life without technology.

At Obvious Technologies, we keep updating our approach to consuming technology. We want technology to help us win the battle of time and give us the correct information as fast as possible while maintaining its easy-to-use reputation.

Our way of consuming technology has changed over the past years. With a new generation of professionals born in the 1990s with technologies, they consider it a helper in their day-to-day lives, not like something that I need to become an expert.

Technology is like a good design, and it has to be invisible.
