The Head of the UAE’s Cyber Security Council, Dr. Mohamed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, has lauded the UAE as a role model for climate sustainability. During a discussion on “Climate Sustainability and Cyber Security” as part of the Arab Youth Technical Fellowship Programme, Dr. Al Kuwaiti emphasized the interdependence of climate sustainability and cybersecurity, underscoring the vital role of cybersecurity in shaping sustainable policies and facilitating decision-making.

This event brought together participants from the third edition of the Arab Youth Technical Fellowship Programme, organized by the Arab Youth Centre, featuring 30 young individuals from 12 Arab nations. The program aims to equip them with skills in artificial intelligence applications and the digital economy, with a particular focus on technology, sustainability, and climate change. This is in line with the UAE’s preparations to host the COP28 conference at the end of November.

Dr. Al Kuwaiti also discussed the UAE’s initiatives to promote sustainability, including the UAE Green Development Strategy, the Masdar City project, UAE Energy Strategy 2050, and the Renewable Energy Initiative. The session concluded by emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts and the mobilization of resources to support cyber solutions, ultimately contributing to a better future for the world.
