The UAE Ministry of Economy has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ADNOC to enhance the digital transformation of the National Economic Registry, also known as the ‘Growth’ platform. This partnership aims to integrate data and statistics, improve digital connectivity, and align with the UAE’s national vision for economic development.

The MoU was signed by Abdulaziz Al Nuaimi, Assistant Undersecretary for Entrepreneurship and the Economic Affairs Regulatory Sector at the Ministry of Economy, and Dr. Saleh Al Hashimi, Director of ADNOC’s Commercial and In-Country Value (ICV) Directorate. The signing took place at the first edition of Abu Dhabi Business Week at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from December 4 to 6, 2024.

The partnership supports the Ministry’s goal to maximize the use of data as a strategic tool for sustainable development. Abdulaziz Al Nuaimi highlighted that the collaboration will improve the quality of data analysis and enhance operational efficiency, aligning with the pillars of the “We the UAE 2031” vision. He emphasized the importance of cooperation between the government and private sectors to adopt innovative mechanisms and achieve global best practices.

The MoU establishes a framework for data exchange, the integration of databases, and the sharing of expertise to boost efficiency. Both entities will work together to analyze and utilize data effectively, develop team capabilities, and encourage the adoption of successful practices to advance their shared goals.

The ‘Growth’ platform, launched by the Ministry of Economy in October 2024, is the largest unified database for commercial licenses in the UAE. It connects over 46 government entities and integrates data through the Unified Economic Number (ERN), allowing seamless access to information on more than 2,000 economic activities. The platform supports flexible electronic transactions and standardized business procedures, further strengthening the UAE’s position as a hub for economic innovation.

This partnership between the Ministry of Economy and ADNOC reflects the UAE’s commitment to advancing digital transformation and enhancing its global competitiveness.
