UAEU Unveils AI Agenda 2025-2031 to Advance Academic Excellence

The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) has officially launched its Artificial Intelligence Agenda 2025-2031, aimed at enhancing its academic and research programs. The launch event saw the attendance of Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to the UAE President and Chancellor of UAEU, along with various academic and administrative personnel, and faculty members.

In his address, Nusseibeh highlighted that the launch of UAEU’s AI Agenda coincides with the UAE Cabinet’s endorsement of the nation’s AI policy on the international stage. He stated, “This significant step reflects our unwavering commitment to enhancing the university’s status as a leading institution in higher education, research, and community service, while also embracing modern technologies.”

Nusseibeh further emphasized that UAEU aims to remain a premier educational institution, dedicated to equipping the next generation with essential technical and technological skills to make a positive impact on society and the world.

He also noted that the UAE’s wise leadership is at the forefront of anticipating the future, positioning the UAE among the leading nations in the field of AI. This ambition has been supported by various integrated strategies and initiatives, including the UAE’s National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence, a key project within the UAE Centennial 2071 plan, the appointment of the world’s first Minister of AI, and the establishment of an innovation-friendly environment in advanced technologies.

Dr. Fekri Kharbash, Acting Dean of the College of Information Technology, provided a detailed overview of the pillars and goals of the UAEU AI Agenda. Key objectives include enhancing the university’s role as a comprehensive academic and research institution, fostering an innovative environment rooted in advanced technologies, and positioning UAEU at the forefront of integrating AI with education, academic research, and administrative operations.
