As a result, customers no longer need to visit service centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The move was reported as part of RTA\u2019s broader efforts to support Dubai\u2019s ambition to become the world\u2019s smartest city. It also aligns with ongoing <a href=\"https:\/\/techxmedia.com\/en\/?s=digital\">digital<\/a> transformation initiatives aimed at improving service accessibility and saving time and effort for users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applying for the e-scooter permit through the RTA app is now available via a simple and user-friendly process. Applicants must complete an online theoretical test. The test covers e-scooter usage rules, safety requirements, and safe riding fundamentals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the test is successfully completed, applicants are authorized to use e-scooters in areas and streets designated by RTA. The permit is then issued electronically through RTA\u2019s smart channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to RTA, the service forms part of a wider package of initiatives designed to regulate e-scooter use, enhance traffic awareness, and improve road safety. The authority added that the e-scooter permit application service will continue to be available on the official RTA website, offering flexible access options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RTA has urged e-scooter users who do not meet exemption criteria to obtain the required permit before riding in authorized areas.
