Thawani Pay<\/a>, an Omani fintech and the first non-bank payment service provider licensed by the Central Bank of Oman, has announced a strategic partnership with Network International to accelerate digital payment<\/a> innovation and expand credit card capabilities in the Sultanate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The partnership was revealed as part of Thawani Pay\u2019s continued growth. It follows a milestone in which the company became the first fintech in Oman to secure a Visa licence to issue credit cards. The development supports national efforts to advance digital payments and financial services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agreement was signed during a ceremony at Thawani Pay\u2019s head office in Muscat. It was attended by Eng. Majid Al Amri, Founder and CEO of Thawani Pay, and Navneet Dave, Managing Director and Co-Head of Processing for the Middle East at Network International.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the agreement, Network International will provide credit card processing services to Thawani Pay. As a result, Thawani Pay will advance its card roadmap using a scalable and secure processing infrastructure. At the same time, Network International will expand its processing footprint in Oman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collaboration is expected to introduce new payment propositions across the market. It also aims to strengthen financial inclusion and support long-term digital transformation aligned with Oman Vision 2040.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Majid Al Amri said the partnership will enable Thawani Pay to scale its Visa-powered credit card programme and deliver a secure, app-first card experience. He added that the initiative supports Oman\u2019s transition toward a more cashless and digitally inclusive economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Navneet Dave noted that the agreement reflects Network International\u2019s commitment to supporting digital commerce in Oman. He said the company will contribute its processing expertise to support the country\u2019s evolving financial landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oman\u2019s digital payments sector continues to expand, according to reported figures. Card and point-of-service transaction volumes reached 432.9 million in 2024, with a total value of OMR 6.88 billion, highlighting increased adoption of cashless payments nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
