GITEX AFRICA<\/a> will return to Marrakech from 7\u20139 April 2026 for its fourth edition, held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI<\/strong>, may God assist Him. The event will further position the city as one of Africa\u2019s leading hubs for technology and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recognised as the largest technology<\/a> and startup event on the continent, GITEX AFRICA is held under the authority of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform. It is organised in partnership with the Digital Development Agency (ADD) and KAOUN International, the global organiser of GITEX events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This edition comes at a time when Artificial Intelligence is reshaping global value chains. Therefore, the 2026 programme places AI at the centre of its strategic vision. The theme, \u201cCatalysing Africa\u2019s Digital Economy in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,\u201d reflects a broader ambition to support a competitive, inclusive, sovereign and sustainable African digital economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, the event will convene public decision-makers, industry leaders, startups, investors, researchers and global technology stakeholders in Marrakech. It will provide a platform to examine responsible AI infrastructure, digital public policy frameworks and the scaling of high-impact solutions tailored to Africa\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In parallel, the momentum of the event aligns with the objectives of the Digital for Sustainable Development Hub. The initiative was launched by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her Excellency Mrs. Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni<\/strong>, Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, stated that through D4SD, \u201cwe are building an Arab-African digital cooperation platform based on the sharing of expertise, the development of skills and the deployment of Artificial Intelligence solutions aligned with our countries\u2019 development priorities.\u201d She added that digital transformation should serve as \u201ca structural driver of co-development in Africa, while ensuring that technological innovation delivers tangible contributions to sustainable development and enhances citizens\u2019 quality of life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, GITEX AFRICA is positioned as a strategic forum where public policy, investment and innovation converge in a structured manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Amine El Mezouaghi, Director General of the Digital Development Agency, described Artificial Intelligence as \u201ca decisive lever for Africa\u2019s digital development, provided that effective convergence is ensured between public policy, infrastructure and investment.\u201d He added that the event serves as a strategic framework for co-construction, bringing together African and international ecosystems around practical solutions adapted to the continent\u2019s realities. According to him, it also accelerates high-impact digital projects and strengthens local capabilities sustainably.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, organisers emphasised collaboration and co-creation as central pillars of the 2026 edition. The event aims to unite African and international stakeholders around concrete solutions and cross-border cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Trixie LohMirmand, CEO of GITEX AFRICA Morocco, said that as preparations advance, the mission is to move \u201cbeyond conversation and into the era of active implementation.\u201d She noted that by anchoring the edition in responsible Artificial Intelligence, the platform connects global innovation with African sovereignty.
