These attacks aim to steal financial data and sensitive information. As a result, individuals and organisations face increased risks of hacking and data theft.

Moreover, the Council revealed that over 75 percent of cyber breaches begin with phishing emails or fraudulent messages. These messages may carry malware, steal login credentials, or enable identity theft. It also highlighted that such attacks are widespread and often exploit low awareness and poor digital behaviour.

In addition, more than 3.4 billion phishing messages are sent daily worldwide. These messages target individuals to extract personal and financial data. The stolen information may later be used for cyberattacks, extortion, or ransom operations.

The Council also stressed the importance of protecting personal data. It outlined key warning signs of phishing attempts. These include requests for advance payments, pressure to act quickly, and demands for personal data without clear reasons. Similarly, overly attractive offers and login links from unknown sources should raise suspicion.

Furthermore, emails with spelling and grammatical errors are common indicators of phishing attempts. Such messages are often used to trick users into sharing sensitive information or accessing harmful links.

To reduce risks, the Council advised users to avoid clicking on suspicious links. It also recommended not scanning QR codes in public or untrusted places. Users should keep personal information and login credentials confidential and avoid sharing them with unknown parties.

At the same time, securing personal accounts remains essential. The Council encouraged enabling multi-factor authentication and regularly updating systems and applications. It also urged users to report suspicious messages immediately and avoid interacting with them.

Additionally, the Council emphasised that the human factor remains critical in cybersecurity. Prompt reporting of suspicious activities helps security teams analyse threats and respond quickly. This can prevent major cyber incidents.

Finally, the Council noted that cyberspace safety remains a major challenge. However, following preventive measures and adopting responsible digital behaviour can support national efforts to tackle evolving cyber threats, especially those linked to phishing emails.

[9617
73
9732
post-105037","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-latest-news","tag-uae","contributor-news-desk
["GET
