As a result, GITEX Africa Morocco has expanded its sector focus to address key enablers shaping the continent\u2019s digital future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event will take place from 7\u20139 April 2026. It will host over 1,450 exhibiting companies and startups. Participants from more than 130 countries are expected to attend. Moreover, the event is held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. It operates under the authority of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform. It is hosted by the Digital Development Agency (ADD) and organised by KAOUN International.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Global participation continues to strengthen Africa\u2019s role in the digital economy. The 2026 edition reflects a broader international footprint. It includes participation from Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. In addition, first-time country delegations such as Thailand and Korea highlight growing global alignment with Africa\u2019s technology growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This momentum is further supported by global technology and infrastructure leaders such as Ericsson. Financial institutions like Mastercard are also collaborating with African partners. Together, they aim to advance cloud adoption, connectivity, and digital financial systems. Furthermore, the conference programme will include senior policymakers and leaders, including representatives from the European Commission and major telecom operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, data centre capacity and infrastructure are becoming central to Africa\u2019s AI readiness. Therefore, GITEX AFRICA Morocco has introduced the Data Centre Intelligent Infrastructure (DCII) sector. This initiative focuses on meeting demand for compute capacity, connectivity, and energy systems. Morocco is advancing its national data centre agenda across Casablanca, Dakhla, and Settat. Meanwhile, similar expansions are underway across key African markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>International providers such as Schneider Electric, N+One Data Centres, Vertiv, Nokia, Honeywell, Huawei, and APL Data Centre are working closely with governments. Their goal is to build resilient infrastructure that supports digital ecosystems across the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, GITEX AFRICA Morocco is expanding into future mobility and financial systems. The event introduces its first Mobility Park. This platform will showcase advancements in electric, autonomous, and connected transportation systems. As Morocco strengthens its position in the electric vehicle and battery supply chain, mobility is becoming a key pillar of economic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hyundai, the official transportation partner, will present its latest electric mobility innovations. The showcase will highlight its IONIQ lineup. Youssef Bennis, General Manager of Hyundai Maroc, said the partnership reflects the company\u2019s focus on innovation, technology, and human-centred mobility. He added that the event provides an opportunity to engage with a forward-looking ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the expanded Future Banking and Finance sector will bring together global institutions and technology providers. The focus will be on digitalisation, financial inclusion, and cross-border payments. Saham Bank will also participate in the Supernova startup pitch competition as part of the judging panel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ahmed El Yacoubi, CEO of Saham Bank, stated that Africa is emerging as a highly dynamic fintech market. He noted that supporting startups helps drive innovation, inclusion, and new economic opportunities across the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, fintech unicorn Wave will contribute to the conference programme. It will deliver exclusive content titled \u201cThe Future of Money, Built for Africa.\u201d Awa Gueye, Regional Public Policy Lead at Wave Mobile Money, said Africa is actively shaping the future of finance. She highlighted the shift toward more accessible and affordable financial services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, the event continues to position itself as a major platform for international digital cooperation. It aims to strengthen Africa\u2019s role in global technology ecosystems. Building on previous success, the event is expected to drive new partnerships and explore critical technology sectors.
