The UAE is strengthening AI security<\/strong> with a new national initiative announced at the Make it in the Emirates Conference<\/a> Conference in Abu Dhabi. The UAE Cyber Security Council<\/a>, Open Innovation AI, and Cisco, in collaboration with Emircom, have launched the National AI Test and Validation Lab. This facility tests, validates, and certifies AI models, agents, and applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lab delivers sovereign and independent assessment of AI systems. It ensures alignment with UAE cybersecurity policies and global standards. It operates under the governance of the UAE Cyber Security Council and is hosted in the country. It also supports compliance with ISO 42001, MITRE ATLAS, NIST AI RMF, and OWASP frameworks for LLMs and AI agents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al-Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity, UAE Government and Chairman of the UAE Cyber Security Council, said artificial intelligence<\/a> now powers government services, critical infrastructure, and daily life. He added that the Lab ensures every AI model and agent remains secure, trustworthy, and aligned with national policy. As a result, the UAE converts its AI ambition into measurable assurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The platform strengthens AI security through a structured evaluation framework. It tests model security, threat resistance, data integrity, supply chain safety, and agent autonomy. It also identifies risks such as prompt injection, jailbreak attempts, and privacy leakage. In addition, it verifies the integrity of AI models, weights, and connected tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Systems that pass these assessments receive a national certification mark. This mark gives regulators, operators, and citizens confidence in deployed AI systems. Therefore, the Lab builds trust between technology providers and end users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fady Younes, Managing Director for Cybersecurity at Cisco<\/a> Middle East, Turkey, Africa, Romania, and CIS, said security must be built into infrastructure from the start. He added that the collaboration creates a global model for resilient and trustworthy AI ecosystems. Moreover, it supports secure digital transformation at scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Abed Benaichouche, Chief Executive Officer of Open Innovation AI, said AI security must evolve continuously because models and agents change rapidly. He explained that the Lab automates red-teaming and testing at industrial scale. It will analyze tens of thousands of AI agents every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lab runs on Cisco AI-ready infrastructure powered by NVIDIA GPUs. It uses Open Innovation Cluster Manager to manage AI workloads. It also integrates Cisco AI Defense and OI AI Security for automated testing, policy enforcement, and continuous validation. Consequently, it enables scalable and real-time AI risk detection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The facility is already operational. It will scale quickly to support national demand. It will test AI systems used in government, finance, healthcare, energy, telecommunications, and other critical sectors. It will also support UAE-based developers before market release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, the initiative positions the UAE as a global leader in trusted AI deployment. It strengthens national frameworks for AI security<\/strong>, improves regulatory confidence, and enables safe AI adoption across sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
