The UAE\u2019s Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications Office<\/a> has launched the \u201cDigital Talents in Sharjah\u201d initiative to accelerate AI skills development among students and graduates. The initiative was launched in strategic partnership with the University of Sharjah and the American University of Sharjah, and in collaboration with global technology companies including Google<\/a>, Oracle<\/a>, upGrad<\/a>, and Microsoft<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic outcomes and evolving job market requirements. It will provide students and graduates with hands-on training and professional qualification opportunities in advanced digital technologies. In addition, the program seeks to build national talent and prepare a digitally empowered generation capable of contributing to the knowledge economy and innovation-driven sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The launch was witnessed by Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and signed by Saqr Binghalib, Executive Director of the UAE Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office, and Dr. Tod Laursen, Chancellor of the American University of Sharjah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spanning two years, the initiative represents a collaborative model between government entities, academic institutions, and global technology companies. Furthermore, it aims to establish an integrated ecosystem for preparing national talent in artificial intelligence and advanced digital technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saqr Binghalib, Executive Director of the Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications Office, said the \u201cDigital Talents in Sharjah\u201d initiative reflects the UAE Government\u2019s commitment to strengthening the country\u2019s global leadership in artificial intelligence and advanced technology. He added that the initiative supports the goals of the UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy by investing in human capital and fostering innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also stated that the initiative will play an important role in equipping students and graduates with applied digital skills. According to him, it will align educational outcomes with labor market needs while supporting a generation capable of leading digital transformation and sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Professor Dr. Esameldin Agami said the partnership aligns with the university\u2019s mission to prepare graduates for integration into the modern workforce. He noted that educational institutions must go beyond traditional academic curricula to meet the demands of the digital economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further explained that strategic collaboration with global technology companies is essential for preparing students with practical expertise in advanced artificial intelligence. According to him, the initiative provides students with accredited and hands-on learning experiences guided by world-class firms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Dr. Esameldin Agami added that the University of Sharjah will continue strengthening the collaboration model between government, academia, and the private sector. He described this model as one of the most effective approaches for developing globally competitive national talent in AI and technology fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, Omar Aljundi highlighted Oracle\u2019s partnership with the AI Office. He said the initiative will help university students in Sharjah gain technical and digital skills required for the future workforce. He also noted that the program aligns with the UAE\u2019s vision of building a knowledge- and innovation-based economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, Caroline Mutepfa said the partnership aims to prepare students for an AI-powered future. She explained that the Microsoft Elevate initiative will provide practical tools, governance frameworks, and guidance to support the safe and effective use of artificial intelligence in educational environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caroline Mutepfa added that Microsoft Elevate will further strengthen the initiative by supporting an AI-first education ecosystem. She said the partnership will accelerate institutional innovation and provide access to the latest Copilot resources and upskilling programs to enhance personalized learning experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative also focuses on developing participants\u2019 expertise in data analysis, smart solution development, and innovative thinking. Training programs will be delivered by industry experts and practitioners to support institutional performance and the adoption of advanced technologies in line with global standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, Google<\/a> will conduct specialized workshops on artificial intelligence<\/a> applications, including the use of Google Gemini in marketing, business management, and idea generation. These workshops align with the \u201cAI for All\u201d initiative launched by Google in partnership with the AI Office to expand access to AI technologies across society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cDigital Talents in Sharjah\u201d initiative aligns with the UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy, which prioritizes human development and youth empowerment.
