Agentic AI is set to play a central role in Dubai\u2019s next phase of digital transformation after His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum<\/a>, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the UAE, chaired a meeting of the Higher Committee for Future Technology Development and the Digital Economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, Sheikh Hamdan reviewed the committee\u2019s projects and initiatives, including an executive plan designed to accelerate the adoption of Agentic AI across Dubai\u2019s private sector<\/a> and strengthen business readiness. He also approved Dubai\u2019s hosting of the 50th edition of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) World Finals, one of the world\u2019s largest programming competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheikh Hamdan said Dubai is experiencing a major transformation in its development journey, with artificial intelligence creating new economic opportunities and enhancing business competitiveness. He noted that these efforts continue to strengthen Dubai\u2019s position as a global hub for the digital economy and future industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur goal is for Dubai to become the world\u2019s leading hub for developing and deploying advanced AI solutions, with the private sector playing a central role in driving this transformation,\u201d Sheikh Hamdan said. He added that Dubai aims to translate these opportunities into tangible economic outcomes, create new pathways for growth, and enhance global competitiveness in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further stated that opportunities created by Agentic AI extend beyond technology and are reshaping business models, strengthening competitiveness, and accelerating innovation across industries. According to Sheikh Hamdan, the next phase requires a shift from traditional AI tools toward intelligent systems capable of executing tasks, making decisions, and managing operations more efficiently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, he highlighted the importance of attracting global talent, companies, and high value investments to build a strong AI ecosystem. Dubai, he said, will continue expanding international partnerships and enhancing its regulatory environment to accelerate adoption and generate sustainable economic value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The executive plan for the Agentic AI transformation programme aims to empower 295,000 companies in Dubai, develop and deploy 100 specialised AI assistants over the next two years, and support the establishment of 50 Agentic AI companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheikh Hamdan also approved Dubai\u2019s hosting of the 50th edition of the ICPC World Finals. He said the event supports Dubai\u2019s ambition to become a global destination for digital talent and advanced technologies while strengthening its knowledge based economy. The competition will bring together 140 teams from more than 70 countries and will take place from 16 to 20 November 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting also saw the approval of several strategic initiatives supporting Dubai\u2019s digital economy, advanced technology sector, and global talent attraction efforts. Among them was the Dubai Global Talent Network platform, which aims to connect international professionals who are based in Dubai or have previous experience in the emirate. The initiative seeks to strengthen collaboration and leverage expertise for future projects across multiple sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, Sheikh Hamdan approved the Digital Twin System for Dubai Police. The initiative is designed to enhance smart surveillance through advanced digital technologies that support security operations, monitoring, analysis, and field response. Its pilot phase will cover 150 cameras across Dubai, enabling an integrated digital model for decision making and real time data analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The committee also reviewed progress on existing projects and initiatives. The SME digital trade support initiative, developed in partnership with Amazon, recorded more than threefold growth and reached over 105,000 companies by May 2026, surpassing its target of 100,000 companies for the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Updates were also provided on the Ignyte platform, which now serves more than 36,000 users and has delivered over 3,000 specialised mentoring sessions for entrepreneurs and startups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the Dubai AI Campus hosts more than 400 specialised companies and has trained over 1,500 participants through its AI Academy. The Dubai PropTech Hub also reported 118% growth in the number of companies within one year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The committee reviewed developments related to AI economy initiatives and digital infrastructure programmes, including the Dubai AI Acceleration Taskforce and the AI Infrastructure Empowerment Platform. Since its launch last year, the platform has been adopted by 27 government entities, enabling faster integration of AI into government services while ensuring full data sovereignty for Dubai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Updates were also shared by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence, which continues to support government entities in developing and adopting AI applications. The centre has delivered more than 108,000 hours of work support while helping organisations measure the economic and operational impact of AI projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, Sheikh Hamdan was briefed on the progress of Dubai Founders HQ. Since its launch nine months ago, the initiative has attracted more than 1,100 members and 500 startups. Companies operating under its umbrella have collectively raised over AED200 million in funding, reflecting the continued growth of Dubai\u2019s entrepreneurship ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, and Vice Chairman of the Committee; His Excellency Helal Saeed AlMarri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism; His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa AlMarri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police; His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai; His Excellency Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation; His Excellency Malek Al Malek, Director General of the Dubai Development Authority and CEO of TECOM Group; and His Excellency Arif Amiri, CEO of the DIFC Authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
