Dubai Police<\/a> has launched the first session of its new Student Debates Programme, focusing on artificial intelligence<\/a> and its growing impact on different aspects of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative was organised through the Schools Security Initiative in collaboration with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). It brought together students from Al Rashid Al Saleh Private School and Al Shorouq Private School, along with police officers, education officials and representatives from educational institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme is part of ongoing efforts to encourage constructive dialogue among students, strengthen critical and analytical thinking skills, and prepare young people to engage with future technologies and rapid societal changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the event, Captain Majid bin Saed Al Kaabi, Head of the Schools Security Initiative Team, said the debates reflect Dubai Police\u2019s commitment to investing in youth and raising awareness of the growing role of technology and artificial intelligence in shaping the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He emphasised that building a generation capable of analysis, discussion and informed dialogue is essential for sustainable development and community security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, Al Kaabi noted that the Schools Security Initiative continues to introduce innovative programmes that enhance students\u2019 intellectual and cognitive abilities. These programmes also encourage students to express their opinions and discuss contemporary issues through a scientific and respectful approach that values different perspectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that artificial intelligence has become an integral part of key sectors, including education, security and government services. Therefore, helping students understand both the opportunities and challenges associated with AI is increasingly important. He also stressed the need to encourage its responsible and positive use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Amer Al Madani, Director of Student Empowerment at KHDA, highlighted that Dubai\u2019s Education Strategy 2033 aims to prepare globally competitive learners through a future-focused education system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He described student debates as an important platform for amplifying student voices, developing critical thinking and constructive dialogue skills, and encouraging evidence-based opinions. Al Madani also commended Dubai Police for promoting the responsible use of artificial intelligence and helping students navigate digital transformation with confidence and responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event featured three debate rounds covering key AI-related topics. Students discussed the role of artificial intelligence in enhancing education, debated its contribution to academic achievement and success, and examined how increasing reliance on AI technologies may affect thinking, research and analytical skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The debates saw strong engagement from participants, who presented thoughtful arguments and diverse perspectives. Students demonstrated a high level of awareness regarding the future of technology and artificial intelligence. They also showcased effective communication skills, structured reasoning and the ability to manage discussions in a logical and organised manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants praised the initiative for providing a platform that strengthens self-confidence, communication, persuasion and teamwork skills. In addition, the programme encouraged creative thinking and meaningful discussions about issues that are expected to shape students\u2019 academic and professional futures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Student Debates Programme forms part of a broader series of activities under the Schools Security Initiative.
