It shows a widening gap between AI adoption and enterprise readiness in the financial sector. Moreover, the report indicates that organizations are accelerating AI use, but face structural and operational constraints that slow down large-scale deployment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Firstly, shadow AI is becoming a major concern. 66% of IT executives report employees using unsanctioned AI tools, while 86% say this creates significant business risk. In addition, governance and process complexity remain key barriers. Process challenges account for 38%, while organizational factors such as leadership and skills represent 34%. By comparison, only 28% cite technical limitations as the main obstacle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, data sovereignty is creating new tension points across the industry. While 79% of organizations prioritize data sovereignty, 62% still run containerized workloads in the public cloud. This is contributing to what the report describes as growing \u201cSovereignty Debt.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, containerization continues to accelerate as a foundation for AI adoption. The report finds that 90% of respondents say AI is driving container adoption, while 89% expect container use to grow further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Importantly, the financial services AI scaling challenges are also linked to infrastructure readiness gaps. While 68% of organizations say their infrastructure is not fully prepared to support AI workloads on-premises, nearly two-thirds, or 64%, rely on third-party providers to fill the gap. As a result, enterprises are increasingly dependent on external ecosystems to support scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Across deployment trends, the report highlights an inflection point for the industry. As organizations move from experimentation to production, alignment between infrastructure, governance, and operations becomes critical for secure and compliant AI deployment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAcross the Middle East and Africa, financial institutions are moving beyond AI experimentation and increasingly embedding AI into core business operations, from customer engagement and risk management to fraud detection and regulatory compliance,\u201d said Mohammad Abulhouf, VP &amp; GM, Middle East &amp; Africa at <a href=\"https:\/\/techxmedia.com\/en\/?s=nutanix\">Nutanix<\/a>. He added that scaling AI requires more than access to models and data, and emphasized the need for modern infrastructure, stronger governance frameworks, and operational readiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The study was conducted by Wakefield Research in November 2025. It surveyed 1,600 cloud, IT, and engineering executives with manager-level titles and above.
