The developments aim to enhance urban facilities, public services, and quality of life across the emirate in line with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and Dubai’s vision to become the world’s best city to live, work, and visit.

The approved initiatives include the Dubai Falcon Market, the Dubai Creek Lighting project, the First AI-Powered Park Design Challenge in Dubai, and collaborations with internationally renowned architects on landmark projects across the emirate. Together, these initiatives reflect Dubai’s strategy of using innovation, advanced technologies, and human-centric urban design to strengthen national identity, support sustainable development, and grow the creative economy.

Sheikh Hamdan said Dubai continues to develop transformative urban projects through a comprehensive vision that places people and quality of life at the center of development. He added that innovation, sustainability, and advanced technology remain key pillars in shaping the city’s future.

He also said cities that are best prepared for the future are those capable of creating resilient urban environments, integrated facilities, and enriching experiences that reflect identity, culture, and the aspirations of society.

Furthermore, Sheikh Hamdan noted that the new initiatives build on Dubai’s journey of developing innovative public spaces and urban facilities. He said they enhance community engagement, support the creative economy, improve quality of life, and reinforce Dubai’s position as a global model for designing future cities.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, His Excellency Abdulla Al Basti, Secretary General of The Executive Council of Dubai, and His Excellency Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality.

Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita said the projects reflect Dubai’s vision of creating a more sustainable and higher quality city by integrating advanced infrastructure, cultural identity, and future technologies. He added that Dubai Municipality remains focused on delivering projects that support the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan while transforming public facilities into integrated destinations that encourage community participation, strengthen the creative economy, and enhance Dubai’s global competitiveness.

Among the approved initiatives is the Dubai Falcon Market, the first integrated and specialised falcon market of its kind in the region. Its design is inspired by the cultural significance of the falcon in Emirati heritage, combining traditional identity with a modern visitor experience.

The project aims to create a destination dedicated to celebrating falconry as an important part of the UAE’s cultural and national identity. It also forms part of Dubai’s wider strategy to develop rural and desert areas while preserving their environmental and heritage character.

The market will feature specialised retail outlets for falcons and related products, spaces for cultural and heritage events, a fully integrated veterinary clinic, and visitor experiences within a contemporary urban environment. Inspired by the wings of a falcon, the architectural design symbolises strength, movement, and connection while blending heritage with a future-focused vision.

The project will cover approximately 50,000 square feet and has an estimated investment of around AED50 million.

Meanwhile, the Dubai Creek Lighting project will transform an eight kilometre stretch of Dubai Creek into an integrated night-time destination. The initiative aims to enhance the creek’s historical and visual identity while improving visitor and resident experiences.

The project includes an advanced lighting system across promenades, creek entrances, heritage markets, building façades, and waterfront walkways. It is designed to create a vibrant, safe, and visually attractive environment while highlighting the area’s architectural and cultural heritage.

In addition, the initiative seeks to strengthen Dubai Creek’s role as one of the emirate’s most important cultural and economic landmarks. The project is scheduled for completion during the first quarter of 2027 and supports Dubai’s efforts to develop world class waterfront destinations that boost tourism, culture, and quality of life.

Dubai urban development will also benefit from the launch of the First AI-Powered Park Design Challenge, described as the world’s first initiative of its kind. The programme will use artificial intelligence throughout the planning and design process while applying data analytics to better understand community needs and public space usage.

The challenge is open to designers, urban planning specialists, university students, researchers, startups, and innovation leaders working in AI, technology, and design. It aims to strengthen Dubai’s urban innovation ecosystem, attract creative ideas, and develop future-ready design solutions for sustainable cities.

The initiative also encourages community participation by allowing residents to contribute to park designs through AI tools and interactive data analytics. Final designs will be selected by a panel of internationally recognised designers and senior Dubai Government officials, together with community participation in the final evaluation process.

Dubai Municipality also announced a collaboration through its Urban Planning and Design Lab with internationally renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma to develop the Reservoir Park project. It marks Kuma’s first park project in Dubai.

The design will draw inspiration from the relationship between nature, people, and architecture while blending architectural innovation with local cultural identity. The project forms part of Dubai Municipality’s broader strategy to create world class urban destinations in partnership with leading international architects.

Overall, these initiatives support the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan. Through innovation, sustainability, and advanced urban planning, Dubai urban development continues to strengthen the emirate’s position as a leading global city for integrated urban living, quality of life, and future-ready infrastructure.

[9617,9717
73
9732
post-106206","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-latest-news","category-smart-cities","tag-uae","contributor-news-desk
["GET
