The strategic move brings Kasisto&#8217;s agentic AI platform, financial services intelligence, and its New York-based team into the Backbase AI-native Banking OS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The acquisition comes as banks increasingly adopt agentic AI across different functions. However, many deployments remain fragmented, with AI agents handling customer queries without completing end-to-end tasks. As a result, customer intent often remains disconnected across digital channels, contact centers, and banking operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Backbase said closing this gap requires banking-specific intelligence, reasoning-native AI agents, and governance designed specifically for regulated financial services rather than generic AI platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this acquisition, Backbase aims to deliver what it describes as an AI-native solution built to address the complexity of agentic banking. The company said the integration strengthens its mission to provide the Unified Frontline, an operating model where customers, employees, and AI agents work together using shared customer context, governed authority, and a single source of truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the integration, Kasisto&#8217;s technology will become a core component of the Backbase AI-native Banking OS. This will allow banks to move beyond conversational AI by enabling AI agents to understand customer intent and execute banking tasks within regulatory and governance requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The acquisition also supports Backbase&#8217;s three strategic priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, it expands banking-grade agentic AI capabilities within the Banking OS. Kasisto&#8217;s platform is built on reasoning-native AI that understands context, applies judgment, and operates within banking-specific governance and compliance controls.
