CONTEXT<\/a> has released its July 2026 META distribution briefing, highlighting diverging IT distribution trends across the Middle East, T\u00fcrkiye and Africa. The report shows strong growth in the UAE and T\u00fcrkiye during the second quarter of 2026, while South Africa recorded a more mixed performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest findings from the global market intelligence firm cover distribution market performance across the Middle East, T\u00fcrkiye and Africa. According to the report, regional markets are advancing at different speeds, with several countries showing stronger momentum than others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our session pointed to a region moving at different speeds,” said Erol Kuseyri, Regional Manager for the Middle East, T\u00fcrkiye at CONTEXT<\/a>. “T\u00fcrkiye and the UAE showed strong upward momentum across IT distribution categories in Q2 2026, with server computing and disk storage above index for the UAE. Meanwhile, most categories performed above index for T\u00fcrkiye. In Saudi Arabia, standout areas were networking systems and desktop computing.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The META distribution report also highlighted South Africa’s market performance. Overall distribution revenue remained flat compared to the regional 2025 index. However, the country performed better than in the previous two years. In addition, several individual categories, including mobile computing, software and licensing, and data centre networking and security, remained above index throughout the first half of 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond distribution performance, the briefing examined South Africa’s political and economic landscape. It noted that the country’s political environment continues to face accountability challenges, while pressure related to undocumented migrants remains. The report added that major political parties are largely focused on self-enrichment rather than public service delivery. Local elections scheduled for November are expected to test the political landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Economically, South Africa’s GDP is projected to grow by 1.2 percent in 2026 and 1.6 percent in 2027. Inflation is forecast at 3.9 percent in 2026 and 3.6 percent in 2027. Furthermore, fuel prices have increased following the Middle East conflict, contributing to higher costs for essential goods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Across the African continent, the report pointed to several positive industry developments. GITEX Kenya AI Everything concluded successfully. Morocco has overtaken South Africa as Africa’s leading industrialised economy, driven largely by vehicle exports. Meanwhile, Gabon inaugurated its first Tier 3 data centre, while Lesotho announced plans to build its first AI data centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within South Africa, Starlink’s regulatory approval remains pending. At the same time, Huawei continues expanding its retail presence across the country. The report also noted that Amazon satellite services could launch before Starlink through a local partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
