Abu Dhabi has launched an AI Powered Policy Development Programme to strengthen policy development capabilities among senior government leaders. Introduced by the Department of Government Enablement (DGE)<\/a>, the initiative supports the Abu Dhabi Government’s commitment to enhancing public sector leadership and improving policy design, implementation and oversight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AI Powered Policy Development Programme is being delivered in partnership with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP). It is designed for Executive Directors and equivalent senior leaders with strategic and operational responsibilities in policymaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the AI Powered Policy Development Programme, participants will develop advanced policy development skills that improve policy quality and help translate knowledge into meaningful institutional impact. The initiative also aims to strengthen policymaking across the public sector by supporting better decision making, stronger implementation, more effective evaluation and greater collaboration across government entities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result, the programme is expected to improve outcomes for citizens, residents and businesses while supporting a more connected government ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Yasir Al Naqbi, Director-General of GovAcademy at DGE, said, “Our people are at the centre of government excellence. This programme reflects our commitment to investing in government leaders and empowering them to develop more effective and responsive policies, improving the quality of people-centred government services and strengthening public sector performance across Abu Dhabi.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added, “Through this pioneering programme, we aim to enhance government performance by building the skills, systems and capabilities needed for the future. It will equip leaders to turn strategy into action and measurable outcomes while advancing a connected, future-ready government ecosystem.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants will gain practical skills to identify policy challenges, select suitable policy tools, address implementation bottlenecks, engage stakeholders effectively, and apply international best practices and policy frameworks aligned with Abu Dhabi’s vision and government priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the programme includes an intensive learning module in Singapore, providing international exposure through workshops, learning journeys, group projects, lectures and sessions with guest speakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The curriculum covers impact assessment, behavioural insights, policy communication, monitoring and evaluation, transformational governance, Smart Nation Singapore, and the application of artificial intelligence<\/a> in government transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the programme supports Abu Dhabi’s efforts to build a government ecosystem capable of anticipating future needs by developing agile, evidence-based services and policies that deliver sustainable benefits to society. It also enables leaders to adopt an anticipatory governance approach through the early identification of emerging challenges and stronger collaboration across government entities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The launch of the AI Powered Policy Development Programme reinforces DGE’s commitment to capability building and continuous professional development across the Abu Dhabi Government.
