Sustainability is at the heart of a new partnership between the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) and the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority (DECCA)<\/a>. The two government entities have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in environmental sustainability<\/a>, civil aviation safety and security, and institutional innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agreement aims to develop strategic partnerships while reinforcing joint efforts to achieve Dubai’s objectives in sustainability, aviation excellence, and government innovation. It also reflects the shared commitment of both authorities to support the vision of Dubai’s leadership and advance the Emirate’s strategic priorities for sustainability, innovation, and institutional integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, the partnership is expected to promote knowledge sharing, strengthen coordination, and encourage the adoption of best practices across both organizations. Through this collaboration, the authorities aim to support long term sustainability goals while improving environmental protection and the resilience of the civil aviation sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director-General of DCAA, said, “The MoU reflects our firm commitment to strengthening institutional integration and aligning joint efforts to support the sustainability of the civil aviation sector, in line with Dubai’s forward-looking vision and its aspirations to build a safe and sustainable aviation ecosystem.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added, “This partnership represents a strategic step towards developing impactful initiatives, exchanging expertise, and adopting best practices in aviation security, safety, and environmental protection, thereby contributing to the achievement of sustainability objectives and reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leading global model in the aviation sector.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Ahmed Mohammed bin Thani, Director-General of DECCA, highlighted the environmental benefits of the collaboration. He said, “At DECCA, we remain committed to building an environmental system underpinned by science, data, and cross-sector integration. Our partnership with the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority is a distinctive expression of that commitment, one where advanced aviation-grade tracking technology becomes a new instrument for environmental monitoring across Dubai’s ecosystems.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the collaboration is expected to support the use of advanced technologies for environmental monitoring while strengthening sustainability initiatives across Dubai. It also aligns with the Emirate’s broader strategy to integrate innovation, environmental protection, and aviation safety through stronger cooperation between government entities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
