The company says businesses must now plan storage strategies based on workload needs rather than generic specifications.

The announcement comes as digital transformation accelerates across the Middle East. Meanwhile, Gartner forecasts that IT spending in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) will reach US$169 billion in 2026. This growth is being driven largely by investment in AI-enabled software, cloud platforms and infrastructure modernisation.

As a result, businesses are processing more data closer to where it is generated. Consequently, many organisations are finding that traditional storage systems are struggling to keep pace. Workloads such as AI, analytics, virtualisation and real-time applications demand infrastructure that delivers predictable performance, high endurance and continuous availability.

“Businesses do not always need to replace their entire storage and memory solutions when requirements begin to change,” said Antoine Harb, Team Leader Middle East, Kingston Technology. “The priority should be understanding how existing systems are being used and identifying the workloads that have the greatest impact on performance. That enables organisations to invest where it matters most and build a stronger foundation to future-proof their infrastructure.”

While client SSDs remain suitable for everyday office use in desktops and laptops, the picture changes for business-critical operations. Organisations supporting write-intensive workloads, therefore, should consider enterprise-grade SSDs. These are built for continuous operation, greater endurance and consistent performance.

To guide this shift, Kingston recommends that businesses first review data growth, application performance, write activity, utilisation patterns and shared access across their environments. In addition, certain warning signs can indicate deeper issues. Inconsistent application response times, recurring capacity constraints, rising maintenance requirements and frequent drive replacements may all signal the need to reassess existing infrastructure.

Rather than pursuing a full infrastructure overhaul, Kingston advises a phased approach. This method prioritises systems where performance, uptime and data availability matter most. As a result, IT teams can minimise disruption while validating new deployments. At the same time, they can align technology investments with evolving operational requirements, a strategy well suited to organisations navigating edge computing growth.

Furthermore, Kingston encourages IT decision-makers to look beyond speed and capacity alone. Endurance, performance consistency, compatibility, lifecycle, technical support and total cost of ownership all play an important role. Together, these factors determine how effectively infrastructure will support future business demands.

“Enterprise storage planning starts with the workload, not the specification sheet,” Harb added. “Every organisation has unique operational priorities, even when data volumes appear similar. Choosing the right storage solution helps improve efficiency today while providing the scalability needed to support tomorrow’s AI, cloud and edge computing initiatives.”

Looking ahead, demand for enterprise memory and storage is expected to keep growing. Sectors including financial services, government, healthcare, telecommunications, retail and media are all managing increasingly complex applications and data environments.

To support this transition, Kingston offers technical guidance, compatibility assistance and advisory services. These include initiatives such as Ask an Expert and Kingston Care, which help businesses evaluate their infrastructure and plan upgrades with confidence. Ultimately, as edge computing continues to expand across the region, workload-first planning is emerging as the clearest path toward resilient, future-ready infrastructure.

[9716,9661
6921
9732
post-106661","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-global-brands","category-tech-value-chain","tag-edge-computing","contributor-news-desk
["GET
