As a result, organizations can now discover, test, monitor, and govern enterprise AI risk. This coverage spans from design to production. Furthermore, TotalAI helps enterprise CISOs meet new AI safety policy requirements in both the U.S. and the EU.

Enterprise AI adoption has moved faster than the controls meant to manage it. Consequently, organizations are adding models, AI agents, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers onto security programs that were never built for them. At the same time, attackers are using the same AI tools to outpace defenders.

According to Qualys, no single point tool currently answers four key questions security leaders face. Where is AI running? Which models can leak data or be manipulated? What are AI agents connected to? And can teams prove their controls are working? TotalAI addresses all four questions. Notably, it does so using the same TruRisk score that security teams already rely on for vulnerabilities, cloud, and containers.

“AI is outrunning the controls built to govern it, and security teams can no longer treat that risk as a separate list to be scanned and closed,” said Grace Trinidad, Research Director at IDC. She added that the industry is shifting away from simply counting vulnerabilities. Instead, the focus is moving toward continuously minimizing the exploitable surface, meaning what is actually reachable and can cause harm. In her view, AI adoption is turning this shift from a best practice into a requirement. Therefore, organizations that integrate AI risk into continuous exposure management will be better positioned to scale AI securely. This includes discovery, assessment, runtime visibility, and governance.

Qualys TotalAI delivers end-to-end AI security across several areas. First, it offers total visibility into AI use. This includes discovering shadow AI, cloud AI services, AI agents, models, MCP servers, AI containers, and browser-based AI. As a result, teams can identify where AI runs and who owns the associated risk.

Second, the platform governs agentic AI, models, and integrations end to end. It shows and controls the tool calls that AI agents make over MCP, allowing teams to contain an agent’s reach when needed. In addition, kernel-level (eBPF) instrumentation reveals what AI workloads execute on servers. This provides visibility that traditional scanners and logs cannot offer.

Third, TotalAI helps prove that governance is working. It gives security, engineering, and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) teams audit-ready evidence. This includes what AI exists, the severity and impact of any issues, and a TruRisk-based plan for prioritizing fixes.

Fourth, the platform shifts AI security left. It identifies AI vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and exposed secrets earlier, directly in code and pipelines. Meanwhile, it also tests models for prompt injection, jailbreaks, and unsafe output before they reach production.

Finally, TotalAI goes beyond posture assessment to adversarial testing. Specifically, it red-teams both LLMs and MCP servers. For LLMs, this covers prompt injection and jailbreaks. For MCP servers, it addresses tool poisoning, SSRF, and rug-pull risks. These tests are mapped to the OWASP LLM & MCP Top 10 and the EU AI Act. Notably, while most tools only govern MCP access, TotalAI scans the MCP server itself.

“With every modern enterprise leveraging AI, the question is changing from ‘Is my AI secure?’ to ‘Can I prove it to my board and regulators?’,” said Sumedh Thakar, president and CEO of Qualys. He explained that TotalAI gives enterprises a single, unified way to assess, govern, and secure AI risk continuously. Rather than relying on periodic snapshots, it offers real-time clarity and discipline.

TotalAI is now generally available. Organizations interested in learning more or requesting a demo can visit qualys.com. Overall, this launch reflects a broader push across the industry to bring structure and accountability to fast-moving AI security practices.

Qualys, Inc.
