As a result, professional users can source Toshiba’s AI-optimised surveillance storage more easily through retail and e-commerce channels.

The drive was first introduced in bulk packaging in November 2025. Now, the S300 AI is also available in retail packaging. This move supports a broader range of purchasing models. However, it continues to deliver the same enterprise-grade performance and reliability customers expect.

The retail range targets professional surveillance deployments. These include system integrators, IT resellers, and security installers who deploy advanced video analytics. Furthermore, by expanding availability beyond traditional surveillance distribution channels, Toshiba makes it simpler for customers to buy replacement drives or smaller deployment quantities. They can do so through established retail and online channels, while still using storage built specifically for AI-enabled surveillance workloads.

The S300 AI is designed to handle the mixed sequential recording and random-access workloads that occur when AI software continuously analyses recorded video. It offers capacities ranging from 8TB to 24TB, with performance optimised for high-resolution recording and AI-enabled surveillance. In addition, the hard drive supports up to 64 camera streams along with 32 additional AI streams. Therefore, it suits demanding commercial and public-sector deployments across transportation, manufacturing, smart cities, healthcare, finance, and logistics.

Durability is another key strength. The drive carries a workload rating of 550TB per year and an MTTF of up to 2.5 million hours. It also supports multi-bay RAID systems and comes with a five-year limited warranty. Together, these features make it dependable for long-term, mission-critical storage.

“AI-enabled surveillance is expanding beyond traditional large-scale installations,” said Larry Martinez-Palomo, Vice President and Head of the Storage Products Division, Toshiba Electronics Europe GmbH. “By introducing the S300 AI in retail packaging, professional customers can now easily source these drives through their preferred channels, while continuing to benefit from the trusted performance and reliability that Toshiba surveillance storage is known for.”

Ultimately, the Toshiba S300 AI in retail packaging will become available from the end of Q3 or the beginning of Q4 2026.

[9621,10388
5396
9732
post-107074","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-emerging-technologies","category-storage","tag-toshiba","contributor-news-desk
["GET
