It outlines a path toward industry-wide commitments aimed at giving parents greater control over how teens use social media apps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the proposed measures, <a href=\"https:\/\/techxmedia.com\/en\/meta-ordered-to-pay-567m-for-teen-mental-health\/\">Meta<\/a> will introduce a two-hour daily time limit for teens. Access to its apps will also be turned off by default at night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, notifications will be disabled during school hours. Teens will receive clear prompts and notifications every 15 minutes of continuous screen time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement also includes new parental supervision controls. These will allow parents to decide how their teens use Meta\u2019s apps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, Meta said these teen safeguards will only be effective if other major platforms adopt similar measures. The company specifically urged TikTok and YouTube to introduce the same protections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meta said teens who face restrictions on one app may simply move to another platform.
