King Salman Park Foundation (KSPF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Huawei Tech Investment Saudi Arabia Co. Ltd. to advance smart park innovation in Riyadh. The deal was signed at LEAP 2026 and sets up a two-year strategic cooperation framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The agreement focuses on artificial intelligence, smart-city platforms and digital infrastructure. It also covers intelligent operations, talent development and sustainability. Together, these elements aim to build an intelligent, engaging and continuously evolving urban destination in the heart of Riyadh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The partnership is aligned with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. Under the MoU, KSPF and Huawei<\/a> will explore AI innovation scenarios and work on an AI development roadmap. In addition, the two organizations will validate selected AI use cases through proof-of-concept initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Beyond AI, the cooperation opens the door to piloting emerging technologies. These include Digital Twin, robotics, augmented and virtual reality, and intelligent automation. Furthermore, sustainable digital solutions are part of the plan. Any successful innovations may later be integrated into the Park’s digital ecosystem, thereby enhancing intelligent operations, visitor experience and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Notably, the collaboration does not treat technology as an end goal in itself. Instead, it positions technology as an enabler of better experiences, smoother operations and continuous improvement across the smart park. To support this, the two sides will work on standardized ICT architecture and technical frameworks. They will also establish smart-city platform principles covering system integration, data integration and data governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Talent development forms another key pillar of the agreement. The MoU includes ICT talent development and knowledge-transfer initiatives, along with a train-the-trainer model. This approach is designed to build internal technical capability, so that KSPF’s engineers and developers can strengthen their skills around evolving technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Majed Alhudaib, Chief Technology Officer at King Salman Park Foundation, said the ambition goes beyond building a smart destination. He added that the foundation wants to create an intelligent, engaging and continuously evolving environment where AI and emerging technologies help deliver exceptional experiences for visitors, residents and employees. According to Alhudaib, the cooperation with Huawei will allow both sides to explore and validate technologies such as AI, Digital Twin, robotics and intelligent automation, backed by secure digital and data foundations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile, Trevor Liu, Saudi Huawei CEO, said the collaboration redefines urban experiences by integrating a digital ecosystem.
