Moving Into a New Phase

Sheikh Hamdan said: “Advancing Dubai’s global vision of transforming ideas into pioneering projects that benefit humanity, we announce today the launch of the Create AI Agents Championship, which represents a new vision for the challenge.”

He continued: “Through this initiative, we will move into a new phase of harnessing these technologies, with the aim of making Dubai the first city to lead innovation in this field. This will contribute to shaping future approaches to service delivery, making services more efficient, faster, easier, and more closely centred on people.”

His Highness also invited innovators from around the world to join the challenge in its new form. He said: “Dubai opens its doors to every inspiring idea that can help change the world, create a positive impact, and bring us closer to the bright future we aspire to.”

Congratulating the Create Apps Winners

His Highness congratulated the winners of the Create Apps Championship for their ideas and applications. He said these have contributed to tangible impact. He also stressed the importance of turning promising ideas into practical achievements.

He added: “Dubai is strengthening its position as an incubator for talent, expertise, and capabilities, providing an environment that empowers talent to compete in shaping the future. This is reflected in the significant success of the Create Apps Championship, which, through the strong participation and engagement it has attracted, has evolved beyond being simply an initiative to become a catalyst for inspiration and for accelerating the exploration of new horizons in artificial intelligence.”

The awards ceremony was attended by His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama. He is Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications and Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy.

Also present were HE Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, and Saeed Al Gergawi, Vice President of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy.

Create Apps Championship in Numbers

The championship is part of the Create Apps in Dubai initiative. The initiative is led by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy. It supports app development, digital skills, and technology entrepreneurship in the emirate.

Across its three editions, the championship has attracted 15,564 applications from 153 countries. It has contributed to the development of 1,700 prototypes. It has also supported the launch of more than 140 applications. The third edition alone drew 9,754 entries from around the world.

A Shift From Apps to AI Agents

The Create AI Agents Championship marks a significant evolution in the competition model. The focus moves from developing digital applications to creating autonomous AI-agent systems. These systems will be integrated into practical applications designed to meet real user needs and market requirements.

The launch also forms part of Dubai’s efforts to accelerate the adoption of Agentic AI. It aims to enhance the readiness of the business ecosystem to harness its capabilities. This will support the emirate’s ambition to reinforce its global leadership in the economic and commercial application of these technologies. It will also create new opportunities for innovation and growth.

Participants are encouraged to identify priority problems and design AI agents to address them. They will then test the impact of their solutions. Finally, they will explore whether these can become viable and scalable products, services, and commercial ventures.

Who Can Enter

The championship is open to innovators from around the world. Participants may come from technical or non-technical backgrounds. There is no minimum age requirement.

Individuals and teams may enter with an innovative idea, prototype, or early-stage MVP. Existing businesses may also submit a new AI-agent solution or capability. However, fully commercialised solutions are not eligible.

This broad eligibility is designed to encourage a wider range of high-potential ideas. The championship also looks beyond technical development alone. It assesses the impact and potential real-world application of each solution.
